Using This Site
This site is for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy, scrape or republish its content, try to access it without permission, or use it in any way that is unlawful or that could harm the site or its reputation.
We try to keep the site available at all times, but we may update, suspend or remove any part of it without notice.
Affiliate Links
Many of the pieces featured on Brecken are sold by other retailers. When you shop through one of these links, you'll be taken to that retailer's website, and their own terms, privacy policy, shipping and returns policies apply.
Your purchase is with the retailer, not with Brecken, so questions about pricing, availability, delivery, returns or refunds should go to them. We may earn a commission on purchases made through these links, including through programs such as ShopMy, at no extra cost to you. Every piece is chosen on its own merits, and commissions never decide what we feature.
Private Appointments
Private styling appointments, including wardrobe editing, personal shopping and gift sourcing, are arranged by inquiry. Services, fees and payment terms are confirmed by email before your appointment.
Rescheduling and cancellations: please give at least 48 hours' notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments will be lose their 50% deposit.
Recommendations: styling advice reflects our professional judgment and personal taste. Any purchases you make based on our recommendations are your own decision and are made with the relevant retailer.
In-home appointments: we treat your home and belongings with care. Decisions about what to keep, donate or discard are always yours.
Gift appointments: gift appointments can be redeemed by the recipient by contacting us to arrange a time.
Newsletter and Memberships
The Brecken newsletter is published on Substack, and Substack's terms apply to subscriptions and payments made there. Founding member benefits are offered as described at sign-up and may change over time.
Intellectual Property
All text, graphics, logos and the Brecken name, belongs to us or to those who have licensed it to us. You may not reproduce, distribute or use it commercially without our written permission.
Limitation of Liability
This site and its content are provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, for any loss arising from purchases made through third-party retailers, or for business losses. Our total liability for any appointment will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any disputes will be handled in the courts of Marin County, California.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed, and continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
